Hey, I love to be in my garden......I have a green thumb. So, being banned to a distant, remote island would be fine by me...... as long as I have Rusty and a breath in me, I can live on what I grow. Besides, I'm an ex-beach bunny. I love the sand, salt & sea.
Getting down to this article: I'd like to meet the author.
What this article does is put into perspective the power of the PEOPLE here in the United States. Regardless if it's Rusty Coones or George Washington.
I recently read an article based on George Washington and how he was chosen to be Commander of the New World Army. This article basically spelled it out: What FEW colonies there were, they were willing to fight, tooth & nail, for the FREEDOM they had here on this continent against the Queen of England and all of it's wealth & weapons.
Going up against a HUGE army, with armory, weapons, fighting technique's and 100+ years history of WINNING.....our New World Army went out to fight for these new found freedom's with hand-made fighting tools, guns, ragged clothing and pure courage.
Noted by Samuel Adam's diary, the most obvious thing he wrote about was the courage, strength & valor the New Army had. ALL THEY REALLY HAD WAS COURAGE & FREEDOM. Sam Adam's predicted victory for the New World. He could feel it, he could see it.
Other notable diaries & journals wrote about George Washington leading his simple army into battles against the Queen's Army. And the outcome was favorable, with the "adrenaline-filled" New Army taking control of each battle field one at a time.
These were the simple folk, the farmers, the town workers, the butcher, the dairy-man, who brought nothing with them but courage & honor. George Washington KNEW WHAT HE HAD when he led his New World Army to fight for the those 13 Colonies to become Independent States.
Soon afterward, the Constitution was formed, written and introduced to these Courageous people who fought and won their freedom.
Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed people can change the world. Indeed it is the only thing that ever has.
